My primary research interest is in the development and effects of different democratic policy practices. My PhD research looked at the development and effects of public dialogue, a technique for small-scale deliberative public involvement, in the context of UK science policy. My current work as part of phase 3 of the UK Energy Research Centre’s programme involves mapping the full range of democratic practices at play in the UK’s low carbon energy transition.
In future I hope to continue to contribute conceptually, empirically and methodologically to understandings of and interventions in democratic practices.
